High Court Won't Delay Union Vote For AA Workers

Law360, New York (November 28, 2012, 9:47 PM EST) -- The U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday cleared the way for a vote on whether the Communications Workers of America can represent nearly 10,000 American Airlines Inc. passenger service agents when it refused the bankrupt carrier's bid to stay a Fifth Circuit ruling allowing the vote.

In a short docket order, Justice Antonin Scalia denied American's request to delay judgment in the Fifth Circuit case while the airline appeals the ruling, which reversed a district court's decision blocking the vote because of lack of jurisdiction.
