Ex-Takeda Contractor Says New Evidence Revives $6B FCA Suit

Law360, New York (November 30, 2012, 3:39 PM EST) -- A former Takeda Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. contractor urged a Massachusetts federal judge Thursday to reinstate her $6 billion False Claims Act lawsuit alleging the company failed to disclose serious issues with its drugs, saying new evidence had emerged just weeks after the case was tossed.

Former Takeda medical reviewer Dr. Helen Ge asked U.S. District Judge F. Dennis Saylor IV to reconsider a Nov. 1 decision dismissing the complaint. The suit alleges Japan-based Takeda underreported congestive heart failure linked to Actos and life-threatening drug interaction problems...
