Judge Denies Reliant's FOIA Dispute With FERC

Law360, New York (November 9, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal judge has denied Reliant Energy Power Generation Inc.’s Freedom of Information Act request seeking documents used by the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to put together a 2003 report on the California energy crisis that accused Reliant of contributing to increased gas prices.

On Thursday, Judge Paul L. Friedman of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia followed a recommendation from a magistrate judge and granted FERC summary judgment. That ruling effectively brought an end to Reliant’s quest for hundreds of documents...
