Christie Will Decide Fate Of NJ Minimum Wage Hike

Law360, New York (December 3, 2012, 4:33 PM EST) -- The New Jersey Assembly on Monday sent Gov. Chris Christie a bill that would raise the state's hourly minimum wage to $8.50 and tie future increases to the Consumer Price Index.

Giving final legislative approval to the bill, members of the Assembly's Democratic majority overcame Republican concerns that the measure will worsen the state's business climate and ultimately end up hurting the low-income workers it's intended to help.
