Chinese Co. To Pay $3M For Nuclear Export Violations

Law360, New York (December 3, 2012, 6:28 PM EST) -- A China-controlled construction firm pled guilty Monday to illegally exporting epoxy coatings from the U.S. to a nuclear power plant in Pakistan and agreed to pay $3 million in fines, the U.S. Department of Justice said.

The guilty plea by China Nuclear Industry Huaxing Construction Co. Ltd. marks the first time a corporate entity controlled by China has entered a guilty plea in a U.S. criminal export matter, the DOJ said.
