Hospital Tech Pleads Not Guilty In Hep C Outbreak Case

Law360, New York (December 4, 2012, 2:39 PM EST) -- A former laboratory technician at a New Hampshire hospital pled not guilty in federal court on Monday to charges he stole injectable painkillers and refilled syringes with saline, causing more than 30 patients to become infected with hepatitis C, his attorney said.

David Kwiatkowski, who allegedly knew he carried the disease when using and returning the syringes, faces seven counts each of tampering with consumer products and fraudulently obtaining a controlled substance in connection with the alleged misconduct at Exeter Hospital.
