Coke, Dairy Farm Co-Op Take Shares Of Protein Drink Co.

Law360, New York (December 4, 2012, 3:21 PM EST) -- The Coca-Cola Co. has agreed to acquire an equity stake in the maker of a high-protein energy drink in tandem with a cooperative of 87 family-owned dairy farms, the Atlanta-based beverage titan announced Tuesday.

Coke said it would take an equity stake in the makers of Core Power, a milk-based muscle recovery drink distributed by Coca-Cola Refreshments, the North American sales and operational division of the beverage giant.
