MF Global Trustee Says 28,000 Customer Claims Mostly Settled

Law360, New York (December 5, 2012, 4:26 PM EST) -- The trustee liquidating fallen brokerage MF Global Inc. said Tuesday that almost all of the 28,000 customer claims filed against it have been resolved in the past six months, with 26,610 in allowed commodities customer claims totaling about $6.7 billion.

In his six-month interim report, filed in New York bankruptcy court, trustee James W. Giddens said only 200 customer claims have yet to be dealt with and that he expected them to be completed over the next few months.
