Employer Obligations In The Wake Of Wildfires

Law360 (November 12, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- The wildfires in Southern California have taken a significant toll and continue to affect both employers and employees.

As many employees remain absent due to evacuations and to care for their displaced loved ones and many employers are forced to remain closed as a result of evacuation orders, employers question their obligation, if any, to pay employees when no work is being performed.
