Mazda Crash Suit Belongs In Utah, Calif. Court Says

Law360, New York (December 5, 2012, 5:16 PM EST) -- A California appeals court on Monday upheld a lower court's decision to allow Mazda Motor Corp. to move a long-running product liability suit over a fatal crash to Utah because it would be more convenient to try the case there.

The ruling is a win for Mazda, which had tried and failed to have the case moved out of California after it was first filed in 2004. Despite its loss in that instance, it succeeded in getting the case dismissed, but in February 2011 the U.S. Supreme Court overturned the dismissal.
