Antitrust Scrutiny Of Employers Continues In EBay Suits

Law360, New York (December 12, 2012, 1:21 PM EST) -- In the latest in a series of enforcement actions challenging certain employment agreements, the U.S. Department of Justice has brought suit against eBay Inc., claiming that it violated antitrust laws by entering into an agreement not to recruit or hire employees of Intuit Inc.[1] The California attorney general filed a similar complaint, claiming that eBay’s “handshake” agreement with Intuit violated California antitrust statutes.[2]
