Commerce Joins ITC In Probing Import Of Chinese Silica Bricks

Law360, New York (December 6, 2012, 6:55 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce said Thursday that it will take a look into whether silica bricks from China are being unfairly dumped on the domestic market at submarket rates, after the U.S. International Trade Commission last month announced its own investigation into the matter.

Commerce said it will conduct an anti-dumping duty investigation into the importation of Chinese “silica bricks and shapes” that a Utah-based producer of the furnace construction material alleges are being sold at cut-rate prices on the domestic market to the detriment...
