Buffalo Firefighters Bias Case Inches Towards Trial

Law360, New York (November 13, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Moving the parties toward trial, a federal judge has rejected a bid by the city of Buffalo, N.Y. to toss several claims brought by a group of firefighters who allege that a statewide promotional examination was designed to discriminate against African Americans, but has also denied the plaintiffs’ cross-motion for summary judgment.
