Enviros Seek To Halt Construction On Pa., NJ Power Line

Law360, New York (December 7, 2012, 2:05 PM EST) -- Conservation groups sought a preliminary injunction in Washington federal court Thursday barring the federal government from proceeding with construction on the Susquehanna-Roseland energy transmission line that cuts through three national parks from Pennsylvania to New Jersey, claiming it will cause irreversible environmental damage.

The groups are asking the court to expedite a hearing for the preliminary injunction as it considers a suit they filed in October against the U.S. Department of the Interior and the National Park Service challenging the approval of the 500-kilovolt power line,...
