High Court Seeks Govt. Comment In Exxon Case

Law360, New York (November 13, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Supreme Court is seeking government input on whether the war on terrorism would be affected if U.S. tort claims filed by Indonesian villagers who allegedly underwent human rights abuses were allowed to proceed against ExxonMobil Corp.

The High Court on Tuesday held back on deciding to hear on the oil company's writ of certiorari and, instead, asked the U.S. Solicitor General to file a brief regarding the government's view on the case.
