Apple, Google Joint Bid Tops $500M For Kodak Patents

Law360, New York (December 10, 2012, 7:44 PM EST) -- Apple Inc. and Google Inc. reportedly have bid more than $500 million for a group of patents of Eastman Kodak Co., a venture that would end their competition for the bankrupt photography company's large portfolio.

The two companies, who had competed for control of Kodak's 1,100 imaging patents, decided to join forces, Bloomberg News said. The news service said the information came from people familiar with the situation who asked not be named because the bidding process is private.
