Lawmakers Turn Focus On Possible ACA Contractor Conflicts

Law360, New York (December 10, 2012, 7:26 PM EST) -- Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, and Rep. Fred Upton, R-Mich., on Monday asked contractors hired to help implement health care reform how they plan to mitigate potential conflicts of interest arising from their stewardship of health insurance data that could give them an unfair advantage over competitors.

The Affordable Care Act charged the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services with creating federal health insurance exchanges to cover the states that will not implement their own exchanges by 2014.
