High Court Won't Hear Edge, Duke Natural Gas Suit

Law360 (November 13, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A dispute that stemmed from Texas' energy producer protection law and that later worsened when an intermediate distributor itself went bust has ended, now that the Supreme Court has declined to hear the suit.

In 2001, Edge Petroleum Operating Co. Inc. had sold about $2.5 million worth of natural gas to GPR Holdings LLC and two related companies, which went bankrupt just after they sold the gas to Duke Energy Trading & Marketing LLC.

But Edge by that point had never been paid for the gas...
