Tech Co. Mobbles Accused Of Children's Privacy Violations

Law360, New York (December 11, 2012, 2:52 PM EST) -- Consumer privacy group the Center for Digital Democracy on Tuesday asked the Federal Trade Commission to take action against mobile app company Mobbles Corp. for allegedly violating federal law by collecting personal information from children without notifying their parents.

The company's online game for collecting virtual pets, which is allegedly designed for users under 13 years old and is also called Mobbles, gathers email addresses and other online contact information from users without parental permission and uses smartphone technology to determine a player's physical location, according...
