Tri-Vision Settles Suit Against Thomson Over V-Chip Patent

Law360, New York (September 9, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Tri-Vision International Ltd. has settled its Canadian patent lawsuit against consumer electronics maker Thomson Inc. over the television censoring technology known as the V-chip.

The agreement ends litigation in Federal Court of Canada, filed in June, according to Tri-Vision. It covers all infringement of the Tri-Vision patent through August 2004 by Thomson Inc. of the U.S., Thomson Multimedia Limited of Canada and Thomson Multimedia SA of France.
