EC Approves $1.7B Austria Telecom Buyout, With Conditions

Law360, New York (December 12, 2012, 5:29 PM EST) -- Telecommunications services provider Hutchison 3G Austria GmbH can proceed with its $1.7 billion buyout of fellow mobile carrier Orange Austria Telecommunications GmbH after having agreed to sell off spectrum and allow other service providers access to its network, the European Commission said Wednesday.

The EC said in a statement that H3G has reached an agreement under which it will divest radio spectrum used for wireless communication and make its own wireless network available for the use of third-party mobile virtual network operators, concessions the EC said...
