$3.4B Nucor Iron Plant Survives Permit Challenge

Law360, New York (December 13, 2012, 8:30 PM EST) -- A federal judge on Wednesday gave Nucor Corp. the go-ahead to build a $3.4 billion pig iron plant in southern Louisiana, saying a local grain exporter jumped the gun when it sued Nucor for making a design change not covered by the project's original environmental permit.

U.S. District Judge Sarah S. Vance tossed the suit from Zen-Noh Grain Corp. without prejudice, noting the grain exporter is free to bring Nucor back to court next year if the project sponsor allows the iron processing facility to begin...
