Another Mortgage Lender Targeted By FLSA Suit

Law360, New York (November 15, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A mortgage loan officer has filed a proposed collective action against his employer alleging violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act in a situation that has become all too familiar for mortgage lenders across the country.

Jimmy Grinberg filed suit on Wednesday against his former employer, Florida-based First United Mortgage Service Corp., and the company’s owner and manager, Richard Rivera, in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Grinberg claimed the mortgage lender failed to pay overtime to its loan officers.
