US Wants Peter Madoff To Get 10 Years In Prison

Law360, New York (December 14, 2012, 4:52 PM EST) -- Peter Madoff, brother of Ponzi scheme operator Bernard Madoff, should get a 10-year prison term for his role in the multibillion-dollar fraud and his willful disregard for the harm he caused his victims, prosecutors said in a sentencing memo filed Thursday in New York federal court.

Prosecutors said Peter Madoff lied repeatedly to investors and horded cash for himself, his friends and his family members, in spite of being capable of making a comfortable living on his own merits.
