NJ Bill Would Bar Double Health Coverage For Gov't Workers

Law360, New York (December 14, 2012, 6:07 PM EST) -- All public employees in New Jersey and their dependents would be prohibited from enrolling in more than one government-provided health care plan under proposed legislation announced Friday by one state lawmaker.

Current law bars multiple coverage for employees in the State Health Benefits Program and School Employees' Health Benefits Program, but those restrictions don't cover different, taxpayer-funded insurance programs that counties, municipalities and other authorities in the state offer public workers, according to Assemblyman Ron Dancer.
