House Passes AIA Corrections, Trade Secret Bills

Law360, New York (December 19, 2012, 12:34 PM EST) -- The U.S. House of Representatives late Tuesday passed one bill amending the America Invents Act and another expanding the reach of the Economic Espionage Act to provide more trade secret protection.

H.R. 6621, aimed at addressing the "dead-zone" problem that observers have noted with the AIA regarding the availability of new types of reviews for issued patents, passed the House in a 308-89 vote.
