Ex-Takeda Contractor Loses Bid To Revive 2 FCA Suits

Law360, Chicago (December 18, 2012, 5:42 PM EST) -- A Massachusetts federal judge on Tuesday refused to resurrect two False Claims Act suits from a former Takeda Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. contractor who claimed the company had failed to report health complications tied to its drugs and cost the government billions in overpayments.

U.S. District Judge Dennis F. Saylor IV denied without comment former Takeda medical reviewer Dr. Helen Ge's motions for reconsideration of the Nov. 1 rulings that dismissed her complaints. Ge had argued the suits should be reinstated because new evidence had emerged shortly...
