Toyota Faces Patent Challenge Over Hybrid Vehicles

Law360, New York (September 13, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Automaker Toyota’s increasingly popular hybrid vehicles are under fire for patent infringement, with a boutique electric motor manufacturer asserting its prized electric-wheel patent in Florida district court Monday.

Solomon Technologies Inc., a small Florida electric engine maker, filed the complaint against the world's second-largest automaker Toyota Motor Corporation, and its Kentucky-based counterparts, in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
