Netflix Accused Of Infringing Content-On-Demand Patents

Law360, New York (December 19, 2012, 6:37 PM EST) -- OpenTV Inc. hit Netflix Inc. with a patent infringement suit Wednesday in Delaware federal court, alleging the entertainment giant stepped on seven of its content-on-demand technology patents.

While OpenTV's interactive entertainment software has been used to create everything from CNN Interactive and real-time television shopping to video-on-demand services and Web-based content streaming, it alleges Netflix failed to license the technology to create its massive streaming service in 2007 and hasn't attempted to do so since.
