Jury Hands Microsoft A Win In CAC Suit

Law360 (November 16, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A Texas jury delivered a victory for Microsoft Corp. on Thursday, ruling that the software giant did not infringe on patent-holding company Computer Acceleration Corp.'s patents over technology that speeds up load times for computer programs.

The jury came to its verdict after a seven-day trial in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. It decided that CAC's patent was invalid.

“We are gratified by the jury’s verdict,” said Andy Culbert, Microsoft associate general counsel and senior patent attorney.
