Nike Sued Over 'FuelBand' Bracelet Data Technology

Law360, New York (January 4, 2013, 4:12 PM EST) -- Nike Inc. was sued in Texas federal court on Wednesday for allegedly violating an Austin, Texas-based company's rights over data-capturing technology used in the sportswear giant's fitness bracelets to record health and exercise information.

SportBrain Inc. alleges in its suit that Nike's "FuelBand" — an electronic bracelet that tracks personal fitness information including calories burned through daily activities such as walking, running or athletic competition — violates U.S. Patent Number 7,454,002.
