X-Ray Cos. Ordered To Pay $16M In Medicare Fraud Case

Law360, New York (January 2, 2013, 10:39 PM EST) -- A Florida federal judge on Monday granted a more than $16 million default judgment against two related mobile radiology clinics that allegedly sought fraudulent Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements, saying the companies had failed to enlist new counsel after their attorneys withdrew.

U.S. District Judge William P. Dimitrouleas granted the judgment against Bedside Imaging LLC and Raymack Enterprises Inc., both run by Raymack director Bruce Koplowitz, after their attorneys from the Law Office of Benedict P. Kuehne PA withdrew in August, according to court documents. The judge...
