Old Deal Comes Back To Haunt Solutia

Law360 (November 19, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A group of plaintiffs has balked at Solutia's attempt to assume a settlement previously brokered with Monsanto Co., contending that the companies are attempting to shirk their liabilities connected to the alleged exposure to hazardous PCBs in one of the agricultural giant's Alabama plants.

On Friday, Walter Owens and an estimated 1,600 other individuals filed an objection to Solutia's assumption of a 2001 settlement agreement, insisting that Monsanto is trying to duck its additional obligations to the group by hiding behind Solutia's bankruptcy.
