Obama Resends 33 Judicial Nominations To Senate

Law360, New York (January 3, 2013, 6:06 PM EST) -- President Barack Obama on Thursday renominated 33 people to federal judgeships who failed to win U.S. Senate confirmations last year, the latest in the ongoing battle between the White House and Republicans over the appointment of federal judges.

Obama ripped the Senate for not acting on the nominations — which include seven nominees to the U.S. Court of Appeals and two nominees to the U.S. Court of International Trade — before they expired at the end of 2012.
