Prior LCD Claims To Be Used In New O2Micro Dispute

Law360 (November 19, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Patent claims construed in prior litigation involving O2Micro International Ltd.'s liquid crystal display backlighting technology will be used in the company's current lawsuit against Japanese electronics maker Rohm Co. Ltd., a judge ruled Friday.

In his opinion, Magistrate Judge Charles Everingham IV said most of the terms in three converter circuit patents and two sequential burst mode patents had been construed in prior O2 Micro suits against Taiwan Sumida Electronics Inc., Monolithic Power Systems Inc. and Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.
