Google To Face Tough Fight In EU Despite FTC Deal

Law360, New York (January 4, 2013, 6:18 PM EST) -- Google Inc. may have escaped the Federal Trade Commission's search bias investigation relatively unscathed, but the Internet search giant won't be so lucky with the European Commission's ongoing antitrust investigation, experts predicted Friday.

The European Union's antitrust watchdog noted the FTC's decision Friday but emphasized that the U.S. move was "separate" from its own ongoing settlement talks with the company, according to EC spokesman Michael Jennings.
