U.S. Seizes Discontinued Eyelash Lengthener

Law360, New York (November 19, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- U.S. marshals have confiscated more than 12,000 applicator tubes of a discontinued cosmetic product called Age Intervention Eyelash after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration raised concerns that the product could damage eyesight.

The FDA said it seized about $2 million worth of applicator tubes on Friday because they were an “adulterated cosmetic.” The agency said the product could harm users with increased pressure in the eye and even cause blindness.

The makeup, which was marketed for lengthening eyelashes, was sold by Jan Marini Skin Research...
