Facebook Challenges Currency Co.'s Standing In Antitrust Suit

Law360, New York (January 7, 2013, 3:43 PM EST) -- Facebook Inc. told a Delaware federal court Friday that Kickflip Inc., a company challenging the Facebook Credits online currency system on antitrust grounds, was banned from the social network for deceptive advertising practices long before the contested credits program went into effect.

In a brief supporting a motion to dismiss the antitrust suit, Facebook said Kickflip, which operated a virtual currency business known as Gambit and sued Facebook in October, lacked standing to bring its claims. The suit, Facebook said, fails to draw a reasonable connection...
