AG Sues Manufacturers, Retailers Over Lead Toys

Law360 (November 19, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- California’s attorney general has filed suit against 20 toy manufacturers and retailers, including Mattel Inc. and Wal-Mart Stores Inc., claiming they failed to notify customers that their toys contained lead or lead compounds in violation of California’s Proposition 65.

In a complaint filed Monday in the Superior Court of California in Alameda County, Attorney General Edmund G. Brown Jr. and Los Angeles City Attorney Rockard J.
