Pa. Court Says Home Sellers Don't Need To Disclose Murders

Law360, New York (January 7, 2013, 7:23 PM EST) -- A Pennsylvania appeals court recently ruled that home sellers are not required to disclose to potential buyers that a murder has taken place at the property, finding that such a history does not constitute a "material defect."

On Dec. 26, the Superior Court of Pennsylvania affirmed a summary judgment nixing a suit brought by a woman who said the sellers of her home and their real estate agents neglected to tell her the house she was buying was the site of a murder-suicide in 2006. ...
