FTA Injects $135M Into Sacramento Light Rail Project

Law360, New York (January 7, 2013, 5:36 PM EST) -- The Federal Transit Administration has committed $135 million, or half the cost of a proposed light rail extension in Sacramento, Calif., in a deal that is expected to kickstart construction of the project, the agency said Monday.

The U.S. Department of Transportation is kicking in another $7.1 million toward the project’s $270 million price tag, and the remaining balance will be handled by state and local funding sources, according to a statement.
