DOJ Urges 9th Circ. To Deny Bail In LCD Price-Fixing Case

Law360, New York (January 8, 2013, 4:56 PM EST) -- Prosecutors on Monday urged the Ninth Circuit not to grant bail to two AU Optronics Corp. executives appealing convictions for price-fixing liquid crystal displays, saying their appeal will likely go nowhere.

Arguments that the government overreached its territorial authority by prosecuting AUO President Hsuan Bin Chen and former Vice President Hui Hsiung fail under U.S. law, Washington antitrust prosecutors said in a brief filed with the appeals court.
