Cooperator In Whitman Insider Trading Case Dodges Prison

Law360, New York (January 9, 2013, 7:35 PM EST) -- A former analyst for a division of hedge fund giant SAC Capital Advisors LP who admitted to insider trading, then cooperated with prosecutors against former boss Doug Whitman, was sentenced to probation Wednesday.

U.S. District Judge Jed S. Rakoff ordered Wesley Wang, 39, to serve two years of probation, lauding cooperation that helped prosecutors win a conviction of Whitman, the head of Menlo Park, Calif.-based hedge fund Whitman Capital LLC.
