Atty Faces Suspension Under Fla. Bar's Foreclosure-Mill Deal

Law360, New York (January 9, 2013, 7:44 PM EST) -- Fort Lauderdale-based attorney Marshall C. Watson's plea agreement with the Florida Bar Association over his firm's alleged impropriety in its execution of foreclosures during the housing crisis could result in the first disciplinary action by the professional organization against a so-called foreclosure mill.

The Dec. 7 agreement, which must be approved by the Supreme Court of Florida, includes a 91-day suspension for Watson and requires him to pay about $6,000 for the Bar's costs and $30,000 for a review of office procedures and record keeping by...
