Fla. Judge Faces 1-Year Suspension For Hiding Relationship

Law360, New York (January 11, 2013, 3:07 PM EST) -- A Florida Bar judicial referee has recommended a one-year suspension for a former Broward County judge for failing to disclose a personal relationship with the assistant state attorney prosecuting a murder case in her court.

In a Jan. 8 report, Judge David F. Crow of Florida's Fifteenth Judicial Circuit, said former Judge Ana Gardiner should get a one-year suspension for hiding her relationship with former prosecutor Howard Scheinberg, which consisted of more than 1,400 phone calls and text messages over the course of a 2007 death...
