SAC Unit Will Try To Shake Insider Trading Claims

Law360, New York (January 11, 2013, 8:09 PM EST) -- An SAC Capital Advisors LP unit will push to dismiss claims in a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission suit over its alleged involvement in $276 million in insider trading related to an experimental Alzheimer's treatment, its lawyer said Friday.

SAC unit CR Intrinsic Investors LLC has “serious issues” with the SEC's action against the hedge fund, particularly with its contention that it might have to pay treble damages, Daniel Kramer of Paul Weiss Rifkind Wharton & Garrison LLP said at a conference in Manhattan before U.S....
