Taco Bell, KFC Lettuce Blamed In Canadian E. Coli Outbreak

Law360, New York (January 14, 2013, 4:33 PM EST) -- Canadian health officials on Friday recalled shredded lettuce from several KFC Corp. and Taco Bell Corp. restaurants after finding the product likely caused an E. coli outbreak that has left at least 26 fast-food customers ill.

The lettuce, which was distributed by FreshPoint Inc. to the chain restaurants and did not end up in grocery stores, was grown in California before making its way across the border, according to the Public Health Agency of Canada.
