Salazar To Leave Interior Department In March

Law360, New York (January 16, 2013, 12:46 PM EST) -- Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said Wednesday that he would step down from his post in the Obama administration in March, creating another vacancy in the president’s cabinet.

The former Democratic senator said he had fulfilled a pledge to President Barack Obama to serve four years in the role, in which he handled an overhaul of the nation’s regulatory framework for offshore drilling and oversaw a massive expansion of energy projects on federal lands.
