Law360, New York (January 17, 2013, 1:40 PM EST) -- Highmark Inc. told a Pennsylvania federal court Wednesday that the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center lacks standing to challenge a $4.8 million settlement Highmark reached with a proposed class of health insurance buyers as they press their antitrust case against UPMC.
Highmark filed an emergency motion to strike an opposition brief that UPMC filed earlier on Wednesday challenging the settlement, saying the hospital cannot object to a settlement to which it is not among the settling parties.
