7th Circ. Upholds Wis. Collective Bargaining Law

Law360, New York (January 18, 2013, 5:45 PM EST) -- The Seventh Circuit on Friday upheld in its entirety a controversial law backed by Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker that curbed collective bargaining rights for most of the state's public workers, reinstating the law's recertification provisions and its ban on deducting dues from workers' paychecks.

In a 74-page decision that included a partial dissent, a three-judge panel deemed the law, known as Act 10, constitutional, reversing portions of a district court ruling that had upheld the bargaining restrictions but invalidated the recertification and dues deduction provisions....
